Enjoying Greek Fest, Opa!

My learning group and I indulged in the festivities at Fresno’s Greek Fest which took place at St. George Church on August 22nd – 24th. The primary blue and white colors of Greece’s flag decorated the tents, stages, and patio area. The outside food court carried a variety of authentic Greek food such as gyro, souvlaki, lamb chops, and loukaniko. The Greek dancers performed their traditional 12-step Kalamatiano dance. We engaged in the dance, shopped at the merchant’s booths, ate Greek food, and watched a live cooking demonstration of how to make Moussaka. The people were inviting and filled us in on Greek dance, food, and art.
